GE Dishwasher Not Draining
Standing water in a GE or GE Profile dishwasher after a cycle usually comes from a clogged filter, a jammed drain pump, or a kinked drain line. Safe first check: pull the lower rack and clean the filter basket at the bottom of the tub. Some GE models have a manual drain cycle you can run from the control panel to help confirm whether the pump is moving water at all. GE Refrigerator Ice Maker Not Working
A GE ice maker, including the Profile Opal, that's stopped making ice or is only making a little is usually a stuck fill valve, a frozen supply line, or a failed ice maker module. Safe check: confirm the water line behind or under the fridge is turned on and isn't kinked, and check that the freezer isn't cold enough to freeze the line itself if it runs through an unheated space. If the line is clear and it's still not filling, the valve or module likely needs replacing.
GE Dryer Not Drying
When a GE dryer tumbles but clothes come out damp or barely warm, the usual causes are a blown thermal fuse, a failed heating element, or a moisture sensor that's misreading the load. Safe check: clean the lint trap and check that the exhaust vent isn't crushed or packed with lint; a blocked vent both overheats the dryer and is a fire risk. If the vent is clear and it's still not drying, the fuse or element needs testing.
GE Gas Oven Not Heating
A GE gas oven where the burners on top work fine but the oven itself won't heat usually points to a failed igniter that isn't drawing enough current to open the gas valve. Safe check: with the oven off, listen for the igniter glowing and clicking when you try to start it; if it glows but the burner never lights, or you smell gas at any point, turn the oven off and call the gas utility first, then call us.
